Kēvin Callahan-"I am a maker of the artifacts of ancient man"

The artist Kēvin Callahan at a craft show.

I have been constructing reproductions of primitive artifacts since I was a young boy on an Iowa farm. I have since turned my passion for the primitive into works of art.

My philosophy is simple: Composition, Story, Elegant Line.
If you find the elegant line, your work will be lyrical.

Producing works in a variety of mediums, which include painting, sculpting, photography, crafts, and writing prose and poetry. My BFA is from Drake University in Des Moines, IA. At a Painting Intensive at the San Francisco Art Institute I studied with world renown Israeli artist Larry Abramson and at the Ox-Bow School of the Art Institute Chicago under Phil Hanson and Michelle Grabner.

My artwork hangs in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, Israel, and Europe. I currently work and reside with my wife in Parkville, MO. Both of my sons are accomplished artists.
